HREAM Swap Meet The Beginning PT2

So after trying other events with absolutely no success . I simply made a post on IG asking if there would be any interest in a solventless only Hash event. the response was decent. Well , guess it time to put a show together. Seeing as I hosted totally underground raves in late 90s early, 2000s with success i figured why change the blueprint. As this is a greyish area not as much as the warehouse busting in hosting Rave in events i was doing lol. But for me its safety first ,make sales then have fun. Again why the ol way of hosting things seemed to be good route to take.

Obviously being a Dj and music being a huge part of my life. Booking some dope sounds was next on my list after i secure a safe venue. Which the address not to be posted til day of and needed to know where to see it. Recently I had work with a owner of a local cbd/sticker shop and knew he had some spaces that might work. Oddly enough we landed on a local American Legion he was member of. WTF right,lol. I was to be given use of the inside and back lot. Originally he told me 100% yes we could consume inside as i told him if not deal breaker. At that time he already had a deposit. Ok venue set. Music time. I stumbled upon a group called StonedApe, local Reggae rock band. After many attempts to reach them Ethan finally responded. Unfortunately , StonedApe was no more but he had a new group getting started and would be their 1st booking as such. That band you now know and love and are opening for groups like Tropidelic &Expendables, They were and are Highdeas. Now some hip hop for the bill. So with some social media posts and asking around i found Dutch & Chappie AKA PSG. These boys were fresh and hungry to share their work.

Now Hashmakers need to be assembled but not just anyone who wanted to pay a fee. They need to be top shelf humans as well produce top shelf Hash. Already having been in the Hash world for over decade i was able to reach out and vet some of Michigans best new producers brands. Brands like Tripp Scientific, Smokeys Solventless, Alchemist Organics, Botanic Organics , Hempknight and more. This was looking like could be cool. However i was still unsure how it would be received. Only one way find out.Lets GO! Date set October 1st2021. My biggest worry was how bad my gut injury symptoms would be that day. From 2018-2022 i was dealing with acute pain and bad issues from my 2011 work injury. No worries I will deal with pain regardless and get it done.

Show day I arrived at venue with it not open as was supposed to be. Call dude no answer. Vendors showing up trying setup inside. The added stressed rally flared my pain up and was all i could do to hold together. Finally the staff Bartender arrives and lets us in. Of course the fun didnt stop there. We are informed that we can only consume out in back lot not in the building. Fuck me ! When the guy i booked with arrived he said nothing he could dude and acting like he had no idea its a problem til then as well. So I scrambled to tell vendors who were not there yet to bring a canopy and what was going on. Then worked out who was ok with staying inside and got the band set up inside and the Rappers stage going in back lot. I was literally doin everything for event myself. Carrying tables and chairs , helping haul equipment etc. Then when we opened had to run the door at same time as well lol. I got this.

WE opened and the parking lot filled up fast. Not a ton of people but certainly more than I expected. During event all vendors seemed to be making great sales. I know I did as I sold out in 2.5hrs. I met so many people that day i ended up working with for years.

Veery happy with the small success i felt I went home content but had no idea what i had just started. The people we talking heavy about this new type event. I was just about to really find out the beast that HREAM Swap Meet would be.
